About NÜWA IN FAIRYLAND

After getting cast as Puck in his high school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Benji does a deep dive into method acting to prepare for his role. Finding himself in the enchanted forest of Fairy land, Benji’s reality begins to blend in with the hazy woods from Shakespeare’s play. Everything starts to go wrong when he runs into an unfamiliar character: the Chinese creator goddess Nüwa. She’s not supposed to be in this story–or is she?

Does Nüwa hold the key to his birthplace as a transracial adoptee? Or will Benji never escape Fairyland?

  • Rehearsal starts in mid to late April, with closing around early June.

  • All rehearsals and performances take place at the Boston Center for the Arts on weekday evenings and weekends daytime/evenings (day-job friendly!)

  • Actors will receive a $1100 stipend.

Submission Guidelines

You will be asked to upload a headshot/photo, resume/list of experiences, and a video link of yourself performing a contemporary 1 to 2-minute monologue.

Submission due at END OF DAY (MIDNIGHT) on March 1st, 2024.
